Calling Young Leaders: Join UNICEF Aotearoa as Ambassador! (Fully Funded, New Zealand Residents Only)

Please note that this opportunity is open to only young people living in Aotearoa!

UNICEF Aotearoa’s Young Ambassador Programme offers a platform to amplify your influence on the issues that matter, both locally and globally. We aim to empower young people to champion their internationally recognized rights here in Aotearoa.

WHAT’S IN STORE FOR YOU?

Every year, we support up to eight Young Ambassadors aged 17-24 across the country, empowering them to speak up for the next generation. As a Young Ambassador, you will:

  • Engage Nationally and Globally: Travel across New Zealand to connect with other young people and understand their perspectives while representing your community and culture.
  • Receive Specialist Training: Benefit from expert training and extensive support in youth engagement to hone your advocacy skills.
  • Access Media Training: Learn to be a confident spokesperson and engage with various media platforms. All travel expenses will be covered as part of your role.
  • Participate in Government Relations: Get the chance to interact with ministers at Parliament to raise important issues and amplify the voices and dreams of rangatahi in Aotearoa.
  • Receive Advocacy Training: Gain specialized training to become an effective advocate and lobbyist, learning to navigate the NZ Government and enact real change for young people.
  • Access Networking Opportunities: Connect with decision-makers, business leaders, politicians, and fellow young advocates within the national and global youth sector.

SOUND LIKE YOU?

We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and experiences. Whether you’re passionate about social justice, environmental sustainability, or other pressing issues, we want to hear from you. Our aim is to empower young people to find their voice and advocate for what they believe in.
