Apply for Youth Climate Action Academy: Fully Funded Opportunity for Global Youth, Supported by UN System Staff College and the German Government
It is our pleasure to present you with the Youth Climate Action Academy, an initiative implemented on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) through its IKI project Climate Diplomacy Action Programme (CDAP), in close collaboration with the UN System Staff College to develop and consolidate young people’s capacity to meaningfully engage in climate conferences.
The programme combines online and face-to-face preparatory sessions, culminating in in-person attendance at the Bonn Climate Conference 2024.
The tentative schedule is as follows:
  • Informational Kick-Off Session – 7 May
  • Online sessions – 28 and 30 May
  • Face-to-face sessions – 7 and 8 June
  • Bonn Climate Conference attendance (selected days from 10 to 14 June – TBC).
Eligibility criteria
· People aged between 18 -32 years old
· Fluent in English.
· Previous access to training and capacity-building programmes (the final cohort will have diverse experience levels).
· Accreditation as an observer through the organization
· Prior engagement in existing youth networks and groups.
· Potential to act as an agent of change at the local level, sharing the acquired knowledge and skills with peers.
· Regional, gender and age balance.
· Nationals of countries included in the ODA list.

Application

· Submit a short CV and motivation statement by filling out this form.
· Successful candidates will receive a confirmation e-mail with further instructions by 03 May 2024.
Note: The Bonn Climate Conference and the face-to-face sessions will take place in Bonn, Germany, and participants are responsible for managing their visas to get to the country. Successful applicants who cannot obtain a visa in due time won’t be able to join the cohort.
Please be advised that the proposed activity is subject to potential modifications or cancellation at the discretion of the organizing parties.
Participants will receive a daily allowance and TA fee for the in-person days in Germany (7-14 June) – to cover meals, accommodation and transportation – and will have their flights covered by the organization committee. This is subject to the Academy’s norms and rules.
Deadline for submissions: 25 April 2024
