Apply to the Emerging Leaders for Change East Africa Cohort(Fully-funded)
The Women Deliver Emerging Leaders for Change Program is a transformative two-year journey designed to empower passionate young activists in East Africa. This program equips individuals with the necessary resources, platforms, connections, and trainings to amplify their advocacy goals. With a strong commitment to gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), Women Deliver has a rich history of engaging youth equitably in leadership roles.
Who Can Apply? Young people aged 15-29 of any gender and sexual identity residing and working in Burundi 🇧🇮, Ethiopia 🇪🇹, Kenya 🇰🇪, Rwanda 🇷🇼, Tanzania 🇹🇿, or Uganda 🇺🇬 are encouraged to apply. Applicants should advocate for SRHR and/or gender equality, with a focus on issues impacting adolescent girls within their communities. Preference will be given to those interested or experienced in universal health coverage, the climate crisis, and countering the anti-rights movement. Learn more about eligibility criteria here.

Program Offerings The Emerging Leaders Program tailors each participant’s journey to their advocacy goals and personal growth objectives. Opportunities include:

Eligibility Criteria
- Location: Applicants must reside and conduct advocacy work in one of the specified East African countries.
- Age: Applicants must be between 15-29 years old as of 1 October 2024. Parental consent is required for those under 18.
- Gender: The program is open to all gender and sexual identities, with an emphasis on those identifying as girls, women, or non-binary.
- Advocacy: Applicants must advocate for SRHR and/or gender equality, particularly focusing on adolescent girls within their communities.

- June – July 2024: Application review
- End July 2024: Semi-finalist notification
- August 2024: Group interviews
- End of August 2024: Final selections
- September 2024: Onboarding
