EU Career Opening: Competition for Administrators in the Field of Economics Re-opened

Selection Tests Now Available in All 24 EU Official Languages

Do you have experience in microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial economics, or industrial economics? Are you interested in starting an international career within a multicultural and diverse team? If so, you have another chance to apply for the competition for Administrators in the field of economics.

Background and Re-opening Details

In the framework of open competition EPSO/AD/402/23, the online testing held on October 2-4, 2023, encountered serious technical issues. Many candidates were unable to complete the tests under appropriate conditions, leading to a pause in testing. EPSO has since identified a solution involving online exam-taking with automated proctoring under new modalities. To ensure fairness, the testing phase will be re-opened, requiring all candidates, including those who previously completed the tests, to retake them. This has been communicated to existing candidates in writing.

Key Changes

  • 24-Language Regime: Candidates can now select any two of the 24 EU official languages for testing.
  • New Testing Format: The case study has been replaced with a written test focusing on written communication skills.
  • Application Review: Candidates must review and revalidate their applications, reconsider their test language choices, and update any relevant information.

Candidates who have already submitted applications will receive detailed instructions via their EPSO Accounts. New candidates are also welcome to apply.

Recruitment and Career Opportunities

Successful candidates will be placed on a reserve list and may be contacted by the recruiting services of EU institutions for targeted recruitment interviews. These interviews, conducted usually in English and/or French, are outside the selection process conducted by EPSO.
