The Cumberland Lodge Fellowship is a prestigious two-year programme designed for doctoral students and early career professionals who are passionate about tackling social division and building more inclusive communities. Each year, 10 Fellows are selected to join this transformative experience focused on leadership, dialogue, and social impact.

Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to individuals resident in Greater London who fall into one of the following categories:
Postgraduate Fellows
- Currently enrolled in a doctoral programme at a London university
Industry Fellows
- Within five years of starting your career
- Particularly encouraged: professionals in tech, AI, finance, the charity sector, and creative industries
Selection Criteria
Applicants are assessed based on:
- Leadership potential
- Intellectual curiosity
- Alignment with Cumberland Lodge’s mission
- Demonstrated commitment to social cohesion
Fellowship Structure
The programme is structured over two years, combining retreats, events, and practical contributions.
First Year
- Attend the Annual Fellows’ Retreat (September)
- Participate in at least one workshop or conference
- Contribute a blog post or engage on the community platform (Circle)
Second Year
- Attend the Annual Fellows’ Retreat (September)
- Participate in at least one workshop or conference
- Produce a Dialogue & Debate webinar or podcast (individually or collaboratively)
Additional Benefits
Fellows also gain access to:

- Coverage of meals, accommodation, and London travel expenses for required activities
Ambassadorial Role
As a Fellow, you will act as an ambassador for Cumberland Lodge, promoting its mission within your networks and helping to build sustainable partnerships. Annual reunions and retreats provide continued engagement and collaboration opportunities.
