Make Your Mark – McKinsey MBA Programme

Event Description

McKinsey is excited to present Make Your Mark, a McKinsey MBA programme dedicated to our commitment to develop one another through mentorship.

McKinsey passionately believes in developing outstanding leaders and promoting diversity, both at our firm and in the world at large. We know that diverse and inclusive teams enrich our creativity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities.

We invite incoming UK & INSEAD MBA students interested in joining any of our participating global offices to apply to the Make Your Mark programme by July 25th, 2024. All submissions will be reviewed, and you will be notified of the next steps within a few weeks after the application deadline.

What to Expect:

  • A guaranteed first-round interview with your selected office for either a summer internship (2-year MBA programmes) or a full-time role (1-year MBA programmes).
  • Opportunities to connect with colleagues and members of our diversity networks through workshops, panels, and networking events that highlight our firm, our people, and our work.
  • Monthly one-on-one mentoring sessions (virtual or in-person) with a McKinsey consultant from your invited office as you navigate your first term of business school and explore your career options going forward.
  • Insight into consulting as a profession.
  • Recruiting tips and interview coaching sessions to help set you up for success in the upcoming recruiting season.
  • An opportunity to build a peer network with fellow MBA students.
  • Connections and insight into the areas of our work you’re most interested in.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You have been admitted to a full-time MBA programme in the United Kingdom or at INSEAD (25J), beginning in Q3 2024.
  • You identify as part of any of the following McKinsey networks and communities:
    • McKinsey Black Network (MBN)
    • McKinsey LGBTQ+ Network (EQUAL)

You will have the opportunity to select which networks are of interest to you in the application form. You can select as many as are relevant, but you will only be considered for one.

To be considered for the Make Your Mark mentorship programme, we ask for the following by July 25th, 2024:

  • Your CV in English, including details of your education (incoming business school and expected MBA graduation year), grades (including your GMAT/GRE score), work experience, and extracurricular activities and achievements.
  • A cover letter, in which you include your motivation for this program in the form of a brief essay (500 words maximum) about an experience where you demonstrated leadership, fostered effective teamwork, and solved a problem with a diverse group of people. Please include the obstacles you overcame to come to this solution and why it was important to you.
  • Up to 3 office or practice preferences – Make your selections based on geographic or industry ties. You should also be fluent in the local language for offices in Amsterdam, Angola, Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Brussels, Budapest, Casablanca, China, Germany, Japan, Kuala Lumpur, Latin America, Manila, Prague, Portugal, Spain, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Warsaw, and Zagreb. Geneva and Zurich are open for full-time candidates only.
  • Completion of our digital assessment Solve (you will receive an invitation link from us within 2 weeks of your application).

Applications missing any of the above components will not be considered.

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to one 30-minute PEI interview with one of our colleagues, followed by an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Applications for the Make Your Mark programme are reviewed independently from any future formal role applications you may submit to McKinsey.
