The Associate Fellow position falls under the UNSSC Learning and Knowledge Services, particularly within the Academic Partnerships Unit. This unit fosters and manages collaborations with academic institutions, think tanks, and foundations to advance knowledge exchange and academic initiatives related to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and other key areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Learning and Academic Initiatives:
- Assist in organizing and delivering workshops, dialogues, roundtables, and events, both in-person and online.
- Contribute to the creation of knowledge products such as primers, videos, podcasts, and digital modules.
- Aid in designing site visits for students or online learning journeys.
- Support planning, internal coordination, marketing, and communication for joint programmes.
- Manage digital content on academic collaborations in UNSSC online learning environments.
- Identify and liaise with faculty, speakers, and partners.
- Draft promotional materials and manage communication plans for UNSSC initiatives.
- Respond to queries related to joint programmes.
- Support Administration and Management:
- Maintain files, task lists, and tracking tables on academic programmes.
- Liaise with academic counterparts and students on assignments or updates.
- Draft concepts, syllabi, correspondence, and administrative documents.
- Cooperate with internal units and offer advice on academic partnerships.
Qualifications Required:
- Education: Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in social sciences. A first-level degree with two additional years of experience may be accepted.
- Experience: At least three years of relevant professional experience. Experience with the UN System is an asset.
- Languages: Fluency in English (written and oral) is required. Proficiency in another UN official language is an asset.
