CRP Applications for Fellowships
Applications are now open for the OECD Co-operative Research Programme (CRP) Research Fellowships 2027, offering scientists the opportunity to undertake 6–26 weeks of funded international research in another participating country. The programme supports cutting-edge research that advances sustainable agriculture, forestry, fisheries, food systems, climate resilience and natural resource management while fostering global scientific collaboration.

- Funding: Travel grant including return economy airfare, €600–€650 weekly subsistence allowance, and a €165 terminal allowance

- Eligible Applicants: Researchers working in agriculture, forestry or fisheries with at least four years of postdoctoral experience (or equivalent scientific expertise in exceptional cases). The programme is not intended for PhD students.

Application process for fellowships
The Co-operative Research Programme’s call for applications for funding research fellowship grants in 2027 is now OPEN.
The deadline to apply is Thursday 10 September 2026, midnight, Paris time.
General information
> Applicants must be residents in one of the countries participating in our Programme. Please consult the files for general information on the country’s research institutes and universities.
Please note that:
- Türkiye is a member until 24 December 2026 and will not participate in the call for applications for events and fellowships to be funded in 2027.
- Brazil is a member of the CRP as of 1 July 2026, so Brazil is eligible to the call for applications for fellowships to be funded in 2027.
- Ukraine is on ACCESSION STAGE. Should you want to have speakers from this country, please contact TAD.PROG@oecd.org to be updated on its status.

> Applications relevant to the work of the OECD Committee for Agriculture and other bodies are particularly welcome:
• Sustainable and resilient productivity growth and food security and nutrition
• Climate risks, reducing emissions from agriculture and food systems, carbon sequestration in agriculture, forestry and land use
• Halting and reversing forest loss and land degradation
• Reducing the negative environmental impacts of livestock production and practices harmful to animal health and welfare, investigating the positive contribution livestock can make to soil quality and management, biodiversity and livelihoods
• Biodiversity, enhancing ecosystem services
• Improving soil health and water and air quality, including through agro-ecological and other innovative, context specific approaches
• Innovations in the transfer and development of agricultural knowledge, including Indigenous and traditional knowledge
• Fisheries and aquaculture productivity, sustainability and resilience

Eligibility Requirements
Beyond being a researcher in agriculture, forestry or fisheries, applicants should also note that they must:
- Be employed at an institution located in a participating CRP country.
- Undertake the fellowship in another participating CRP country.
- Normally have at least four years of postdoctoral experience. The programme is not intended for PhD students, although exceptional applicants without a PhD but with equivalent expertise and a strong publication record may be considered.
- Have employer approval before submitting the application.
- Have continued employment (or ongoing scientific affiliation) after the fellowship ends.
- Previous CRP fellows may only apply again five years after receiving their first fellowship.
What Does the Fellowship Cover?
The OECD CRP Fellowship provides a travel lump-sum allowance consisting of three components:
- Return economy-class travel between the fellow’s home institution and host institution
- Weekly subsistence allowance of €600–€650 per week (depending on the cost of living in the host country)
- A €165 terminal allowance to help cover transport costs at the beginning and end of the fellowship
What is Not Covered?
Applicants should budget separately for:
- Medical and travel insurance
- Visa and passport costs
- Laboratory or bench fees
- Daily commuting costs (covered within the subsistence allowance)
- Travel or expenses for accompanying family members
- Taxes and bank charges where applicable

How Applications Are Evaluated
Applications are assessed against several selection criteria. Strong proposals should clearly demonstrate:
- Scientific excellence and innovation
- Relevance to the OECD CRP Action Areas
- A feasible and well-designed research plan
- Long-term collaboration between the applicant and host institution
- Strong scientific achievements and publication record
- Multidisciplinary approaches
- Plans for dissemination of research findings
- Practical impact of the research
- Clear policy relevance for agriculture, forestry or fisheries
New international collaborations are given preference over existing collaborations
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit:
- Completed online application form
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- List of publications from the past five years
- Signed invitation letter from the host institution
- Research proposal addressing all selection criteria
Applications must be submitted in English.
Fellowship Timeline
- Applications close: 10 September 2026
- Award decisions: Mid-December 2026
- Successful applicants notified: By January 2027
- Recommended fellowship start: From 1 March 2027
- Latest fellowship departure: 15 December 2027
Responsibilities of Successful Fellows
Recipients of the fellowship will be expected to:
- Confirm arrival at the host institution
- Complete an evaluation questionnaire after the fellowship
- Submit a summary report within two months of completing the research
- Acknowledge OECD CRP funding in any publications arising from the fellowship
Failure to submit the required final report may result in repayment of 10% of the fellowship award.
