Competition Tracks

To ensure fair competition and appropriate support, applicants are grouped into three categories based on business maturity.

1. Idea Track

Designed for entrepreneurs at the earliest stage of development.

Requirements include:

• No revenue requirement
• Prototype or proof of concept available
• Less than 18 months of operation
• Solo founder or small team

This track supports innovators who are still validating their concepts and preparing for market entry.

2. Startup Track

Created for businesses that have launched and begun attracting customers.

Eligible businesses must:

• Generate revenue
• Be formally registered
• Have operated between 6 months and 3 years
• Have an active founding team

This category focuses on helping startups strengthen their foundations and prepare for growth.

3. Scale-Up Track

Designed for established ventures experiencing growth and expansion.

Businesses must demonstrate:

• Revenue above US$500,000 or institutional funding
• Expansion into multiple African countries
• More than three years of operation
• A growing workforce
