Apply Now: CoFSA Remote Internship 2026 on Food Systems & Global Summit Coordination
Are you passionate about sustainability, food systems, and global change? The UNDP Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) Internship 2026 offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while contributing to global efforts to transform food systems. This fully remote internship allows you to work with an international team, support a major global summit, and build valuable skills in coordination, research, and community engagement. Applications are open now and close on 10 April 2026.
About the Opportunity
The Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA), convened by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is a global movement bringing together practitioners, organizations, and changemakers working to transform food systems. The initiative focuses not only on technical solutions but also on developing the inner capacities—such as collaboration, awareness, and leadership—needed to drive systemic change.
As part of its growing global work, CoFSA is organizing the first Global Conscious Food Systems Summit, scheduled to take place in Bhutan in 2026. This landmark event will bring together stakeholders from across sectors to advance dialogue and action on sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems.
To support this effort, UNDP is recruiting a Convening & Community Intern who will contribute to both the operational and community-building aspects of the initiative. The role is based within UNDP’s Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) under the Nature, Climate, and Energy portfolio, which works globally to advance sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This internship provides exposure to global policy processes, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and international development work, making it highly valuable for those interested in sustainability and global impact careers.
Why This Opportunity Matters
Food systems are central to global development, impacting health, economies, climate, and livelihoods. However, current systems face major challenges, including environmental degradation, food insecurity, and inequality. Transforming these systems requires not only technical solutions but also new ways of thinking and collaboration.
The CoFSA initiative addresses this by focusing on systems change and human-centered approaches, making it a unique and forward-thinking program within the UN ecosystem. By joining this internship, you contribute to a global effort aimed at creating resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems.
This role is particularly valuable for young professionals who want to gain experience within the United Nations system, understand global policy frameworks, and actively contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
