🚀 About the Opportunity

The Investments Facilitation Officer will join the Economic Development, Trade and Investment Directorate (EDTI), contributing to initiatives that strengthen economic resilience across Commonwealth nations.

A key focus of this role is supporting the Commonwealth Connectivity Agenda (CCA)—a strategic program aiming to boost intra-Commonwealth trade and investment to $2 trillion by 2030.

You will work at the intersection of:

  • Investment policy
  • Project preparation
  • Capital mobilisation

Transforming early-stage concepts into bankable, investment-ready projects that attract private and blended finance.

💼 Key Responsibilities

1. Project Development & Pipeline Building

  • Identify priority sectors aligned with national and Secretariat strategies
  • Develop a pipeline of large-scale, investment-ready projects
  • Conduct feasibility and viability assessments

2. Financial Structuring & Modelling

  • Design capital structures (equity, debt, concessional finance)
  • Lead financial modelling and investment case development
  • Prepare investment memoranda and pitch materials

3. Investor Engagement

  • Collaborate with development finance institutions and private investors
  • Facilitate investor roundtables and partnerships
  • Support negotiations toward financial close

4. Policy Advisory & Capacity Building

  • Advise governments on improving investment readiness
  • Deliver workshops and technical training
  • Develop toolkits and policy guidance

5. Programme Management

  • Track project milestones and outcomes
  • Contribute to reporting, strategy, and programme design

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must have:

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Trade, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in:
    • Project finance
    • Development finance
    • Trade and investment
    • Multilateral institutions
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Financial modelling
    • Project structuring
  • Experience working with governments and private sector stakeholders

Bonus Advantage:
Experience in regional connectivity initiatives or infrastructure-related sectors.
