We’re on the lookout for a creative and dynamic Social Community Manager to help elevate Duolingo’s social media presence, spark engaging conversations, and produce real-time content that resonates with our global community.
About the Role
As a core member of our growing marketing team, you will be at the forefront of shaping how Duolingo interacts with its audience across social media platforms. We need someone who lives and breathes social media, especially on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and YouTube Shorts. You’ll be responsible for capturing the essence of our brand’s tone, staying ahead of social trends, and creating content that entertains, informs, and inspires our users.
Key Responsibilities
•Brand Voice Mastery: Own the voice of Duolingo across all major social media platforms, responding to community interactions with Duo’s signature tone and personality.
•Trendspotting: Stay up-to-date on social trends and news stories, identifying key moments where Duolingo can contribute to the conversation in a meaningful way.
•Community Engagement: Prioritize surprise and delight initiatives, celebrating key community moments such as streak milestones or creative uses of the app.
•Cultural Relevance: Quickly identify and react to cultural moments that resonate with our brand, with the goal of creating content that goes viral.
•Social Listening: Utilize social listening tools and native platforms to identify opportunities for Duolingo to engage with conversations happening across social media.
•Creative Campaigns: Innovate exciting ways to engage our community, including creating opportunities for user-generated content that aligns with our campaigns.
•Agile Content Creation: Work closely with the social and creative teams to produce agile, low-lift content for platforms like Twitter and Instagram.
•Performance Reporting: Analyze and report on the success of key campaigns and initiatives, using metrics to drive future strategies.
What We’re Looking For
•Social Media Savvy: Active across multiple platforms, with a particular focus on TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube.
•Community Management Experience: 1-2 years of experience managing a brand on social media or a strong personal presence with a distinctive voice.
•Creative Copywriting: Experience in copywriting, with a preference for candidates who can infuse humor into their work.
•Diversity Awareness: An understanding of the diverse backgrounds of our learners and a commitment to connecting with all members of our community.
•Availability: Ability to commit to 40 hours a week on an hourly basis.
Exceptional Candidates Will Also Bring:
•Production Experience: Hands-on experience with in-app creator tools across various social platforms.
•Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in multiple languages, reflecting the diversity of our user base.
