Climate Parent Fellowship: Supporting Parents Taking Climate Action
General Details:
- Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are actively taking climate action to protect the children they love and our shared home.
- The Climate Parent Fellowship supports key organizers of parent-led, intergenerational, and family-focused climate engagement work globally.
Our Success since 2021:
- Supported 41 organizers from 25 different countries.
- Campaigners, grassroots organizers, communicators, indigenous leaders, artists, and educators were helped to grow and develop their climate work.
- Applications are now open for the 2025 cohort
Selection Criteria:
- Looking for leaders within parent-led, intergenerational, or family-focused climate projects or organizations.
- Emphasis on addressing clean air, fossil fuel phase-out, renewable energy transition, and engagement around COP30.
- Monthly training sessions, mentorship, and stipend of $15,000 – $20,000 USD provided.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Leadership level within a non-profit project or organization.
- Fluent or proficient in English.
- Projects must be related to intergenerational, parent-led, or family-focused climate work.
Criteria:
- Strong alignment with Our Kids’ Climate’s priorities.
- Focus on impactful campaigns at national, regional, or global levels.
- Leadership, decision-making, growth potential, and collaboration key factors.
- Financial needs considered in the selection process.
Timeline:
- Applications open from August 19th to September 6th, 2024.
- Interviews and decisions expected October – December 2024.
- Fellowship begins on January 1, 2025.
