NGO Fellowship Program 2024: Empowering NGO Professionals Across Asia

Taiwan AID proudly presents the NGO Fellowship Program 2024, a transformative one-month opportunity for NGO professionals from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia, including Japan, South Korea, and Mongolia, to immerse themselves in the vibrant Taiwanese NGO sector. Scheduled from September 29th to October 27th, 2024, this program promises an enriching experience designed to foster cross-cultural exchange and collaboration.

About the Fellowship

Building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2023, Taiwan AID is thrilled to announce the second iteration of its Fellowship Program. This initiative offers NGO professionals a unique chance to gain invaluable insights into the Taiwanese NGO landscape through workshops, NGO placements, and roundtable discussions with local counterparts.

Key Program Features

  • NGO Placement: Fellows will be matched with host NGOs in Taiwan based on their professional backgrounds, engaging in hands-on experiences ranging from event coordination to project management.
  • Workshop: A comprehensive four-day workshop will kickstart the program, providing participants with a deeper understanding of NGO operations.
  • Roundtable Event: Fellows will partake in a roundtable event, facilitating the exchange of practical experiences and insights between international and Taiwanese NGO professionals.
  • Future Project Collaboration: Participants will collaborate on project drafts, fostering potential future partnerships between their home countries and Taiwanese NGOs.

Fellowship Schedule

The fellowship spans from September 29th to October 27th, 2024, encompassing various activities such as workshops, site visits, NGO placements, and a wrap-up session. Notably, participants will also have the opportunity to join Taipei’s vibrant Pride Parade on October 26th.

Who is it for?

This program targets NGO professionals aged 25 to 40 with at least three years of experience in fields including community development, environment, education, gender, human rights, media and information technology, LGBTQ+, medical service, and social welfare. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English, with fluency in Mandarin considered advantageous.

Sponsorship

Selected fellows will have their expenses covered, including flights, lodging, meals, and transportation. Moreover, they will receive a per diem allowance during their three-week NGO placement.

How to Apply?

Interested candidates can apply via the provided application form before the June 1st deadline. Required documents include a CV, personal headshot, personal statement, and two recommendation letters. Successful applicants will be notified by mid-July to proceed to the interview stage.
