The Stockholm School of Economics is inviting nominations for its Fellows’ Program on Health Politics and Diplomacy, scheduled from April to August 2024, including an on-site masterclass in June 2024.

Participants: The program seeks 24 mid-level professionals with 5-10 years of experience in the regional/global political environment, working across government, private sector, and civil society.

Eligibility Criteria:

Proven interest and commitment to global/regional health improvements.
Knowledge about the international system relevant to health.
Background in professional work at the national or local level in health or related sectors.
Motivation for how the program contributes to their continued career.

Timeline:

Three online sessions (April-May 2024).
In-person 4-day Master Class in Stockholm (mid-June 2024).
Two online sessions post-Master Class.

Focus Areas:
The program emphasizes learning from past, present, and future cases, offering insights from senior leaders and encouraging peer-to-peer learning. Key focus areas include:

  • Formal and informal decision-making and negotiations.
  • Windows of opportunities and transformative leadership.
  • Networks, relationship-building, and collaboration.
  • Entrepreneurship and creativity.
  • Trust, values, communication, style, language, and timing.
  • Managing uncertainties, exercising judgment, and being courageous.
  • Appreciating and accepting differences and understanding adversaries.
