What’s Inside?

The Human Rights Council Training Programme spans three weeks and takes place on UNITAR’s virtual learning platform. You’ll be guided by experienced professionals from UN agencies, with UNITAR staff providing daily support. The program consists of three e-Learning modules:

  1. Module 1 – The United Nations
  2. Module 2 – Conference Diplomacy
  3. Module 3 – Human Rights, Climate Change, and the SDGs

These modules include reading materials, multimedia files, discussion forums, and quizzes to ensure an engaging learning experience.

Live Components and Extras

In addition to e-Learning, you’ll attend live 3-hour e-workshops on Zoom, covering essential skills like Negotiation, Leadership, and UN Resolution Writing. The unique aspect of this program is that it runs alongside the actual Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva. You get to live-stream these sessions, participate in webinars with UN experts, and even take virtual guided tours through the UN Palace of Nations.

UNITAR welcomes participants from various professional backgrounds—whether you’re in the public sector, private sector, an NGO representative, or a student passionate about human rights. The program is open to everyone, and the registration is limited to 50 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
