About the Scholarship

In the face of today’s complex global challenges, Deloitte recognizes the urgency to unite and forge a path towards a better, more sustainable future. At the forefront of these challenges is the climate crisis, demanding immediate action and innovative solutions across all sectors. Deloitte, through its strategic initiatives—WorldClass and WorldClimate—is committed to expanding opportunities for 100 million people globally by 2030 and addressing climate change both within and beyond the organization.

As a longstanding partner of One Young World, Deloitte proudly supports the Deloitte One Young World Scholarship 2023. This scholarship aims to empower five exceptional young leaders to attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada, from 18 to 21 September 2024. The scholarship is tailored for individuals dedicated to combating climate change or enhancing education, skills, and access to opportunities in their communities, countries, or on a global scale.

Scholarship Criteria

Deloitte is seeking candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to:

For Climate Action:

1. Creating, scaling, or supporting efforts that reduce carbon emissions.
2. Mitigating the negative impacts of climate change through various means.
3. Empowering individuals to take climate action.
4. Planning and strategizing to reduce climate change-related natural disaster impacts.

Or:

For Education and Skills:

1. Improving access to education, skills, or employment opportunities, especially for marginalized groups.
2. Creating skills development or lifelong learning opportunities for future workforce preparedness.
3. Accelerating entrepreneurship, new employment types, or breaking traditional employment barriers.

What Scholars Will Receive

Selected scholars will be entitled to:

• Access to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal.
• Hotel accommodation between 18 and 21 September 2024.
• Economy-class travel to and from Montreal.
• Catering, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the summit.
• Ground transportation between summit venues.
• Participation in Deloitte-hosted sessions with a designated Deloitte “buddy.”

Scholarship Criteria

To be eligible for this life-changing opportunity, candidates must:

• Be aged between 18 and 30 (consideration may be given to those above 30 with a strong impact record).
• Be nationals of any country (projects must be based where Deloitte has a presence).
• Demonstrate a commitment to positive change.
• Exhibit leadership capacity.
• Showcase an understanding of key local and/or global issues.
• Have a track record of generating impactful and innovative solutions.
