Your Role

As a member of our advisory group, you will:

  • Advise on application processes
  • Assess grant applications
  • Provide invaluable feedback

Compensation

Members will be compensated at a rate of £30 per hour for their contributions.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals aged 18-25 who are from or work with ethnically minoritised communities in London, Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire, and the Midlands. No previous experience is required. Training and meetings will be held virtually via Zoom.

About the Evidence into Action Program

The Evidence into Action program is dedicated to developing focused funding and learning initiatives that directly influence practitioners, employers, funders, and commissioners. Our goal is to support stakeholders in understanding and enacting evidence-informed changes in their practices to improve youth employment outcomes.

Program Objectives

  • Improve knowledge mobilisation across the youth employment sector
  • Support stakeholders to adopt evidence-based solutions
  • Create co-funding opportunities

Initial Funding Focus

The first round of funding under the Evidence into Action program will target:

  • Key Audience: Practitioners and funders
  • Intervention: Vocational training (both on-the-job and off-the-job, excluding apprenticeships)
  • Target Group: Ethnic minoritised communities in the UK, aged 16-24, most at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment, or training)
  • Geographical Focus: Specific local authorities in London, the Midlands, Yorkshire, and the North West, identified using the Youth Futures data dashboard and additional research
  • Funding Approach: Core costs and delivery funding, up to £75k per year for up to three years
  • Learning and Capacity Building: Dedicated support, organisational and evaluation capacity building, and research expertise

Program Size and Commitment

Youth Futures Foundation has committed £3 million over three years to this initiative, with plans to expand the fund with co-funders in 2024.
