The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has opened applications for its Communication Internship at the Asia-Pacific Regional Office (APRO) in Bangkok, Thailand. What Will You Do?
During the internship, you will work under the direct supervision of the Communications Specialist and the Regional Communications Adviser.
Your responsibilities will include supporting communication activities across the Asia-Pacific region.
Social Media Management
You will assist in managing UNFPA APRO’s official digital platforms, including:
- X (formerly Twitter)
- YouTube
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing approved content
- Scheduling posts
- Monitoring engagement
- Supporting day-to-day platform management
Content Creation
Interns will help produce engaging communication materials such as:
- Web stories
- Human-interest features
- Blogs
- Articles
- Social media posts
You will also assist with copy editing to ensure consistent messaging and high editorial quality.
Communication Campaigns
You will contribute to planning and coordinating regional communication campaigns that promote UNFPA’s work across Asia and the Pacific.
This includes supporting:
- Awareness campaigns
- Advocacy initiatives
- Regional communications projects
Digital Analytics
Interns will monitor communication performance across digital platforms by:
- Tracking engagement metrics
- Producing monthly analytics reports
- Measuring audience reach
- Supporting evidence-based communication planning
Event Coordination
The internship also includes logistical and administrative support for:
- Regional events
- Communication activities in Thailand
- Online webinars

Content Planning
You will collaborate with UNFPA country offices by:

Administrative Support

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements:
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme; or
- Be a second-year or higher undergraduate student; or
- Be a recent university graduate who begins the internship within one year of graduation.
