The successful candidate will support programme coordination, implementation, monitoring, and resource mobilization activities that strengthen funding coordination and ensure effective implementation of AfCFTA programmes.
Purpose of the Position
The Junior Program Officer will assist in coordinating and monitoring resource mobilization initiatives that support programme implementation across the AfCFTA Secretariat.
The role focuses on ensuring:
- Better coordination among programmes.
- Effective implementation of funding plans.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Programme Coordination
- Monitor implementation of resource mobilization work plans.
- Track programme progress and prepare reports.
- Support implementation of funding strategies.
- Coordinate programme activities across departments.
Resource Mobilization
- Review existing resource mobilization frameworks.
- Support continuous improvement of funding strategies.
- Assist departments in updating resource mobilization plans.

Monitoring and Evaluation
- Work closely with Monitoring and Evaluation teams.
- Ensure implementation follows established standards.
- Support performance tracking.

Coordination and Partnerships
- Promote information sharing across departments.

- Strengthen collaboration among programme teams.

Capacity Building

Additional Duties
The officer may also perform other responsibilities assigned by supervisors or the Director.
Educational Requirements
Applicants must possess a university degree in one of the following fields:
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Economics
- Statistics
- Development Studies
- Demography
- Public Finance
- Or another related discipline
Professional Experience
Candidates must have:
- At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in programme management, monitoring, evaluation, donor coordination, development finance, or public sector programmes will be advantageous.

Contract Duration

Salary and Benefits
The African Union offers an attractive remuneration package.
Annual salary includes:
- US$77,425.50 for internationally recruited staff.
- US$59,805.19 for locally recruited staff.
These amounts are inclusive of applicable allowances.
