The International Water Association (IWA) has officially opened applications for the second cohort of its highly prestigious LeaP Leadership Programme for Young Water Professionals. This transformative global initiative is designed to empower emerging leaders in the water sector by strengthening their leadership abilities, strategic thinking, professional networks, and global impact.

The IWA LeaP Leadership Programme is more than a professional development initiative. It is a life-changing leadership journey that equips talented young water professionals with the tools, confidence, and international exposure needed to tackle some of the world’s most pressing water and sanitation challenges.

Applications are currently open for the 2026 cohort, and selected participants will engage in an immersive 12-month leadership experience alongside peers from different regions and professional backgrounds.

About the IWA LeaP Leadership Programme

The International Water Association created the LeaP Leadership Programme to nurture the next generation of water leaders across the globe. The programme brings together 12 exceptional young professionals who are passionate about sustainable water management, innovation, sanitation, environmental protection, and achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6).

Participants are selected from diverse countries, sectors, and cultures, creating a highly collaborative and globally representative learning environment.
