Selected fellows will receive monthly financial support, airfare assistance, insurance coverage, and the opportunity to conduct independent research in Taiwan for a duration of 3 months to 1 year.

About the Taiwan Fellowship 2027

Monthly Research Grant

Research grants are distributed at the beginning of each month and are categorized as follows:

NT$60,000 per month for:

NT$50,000 per month for:

  • Assistant Professors
  • Assistant Researchers
  • Postdoctoral Researchers
  • Doctoral Candidates
  • Doctoral Students
  • Other candidates recommended by Taiwan overseas missions

  • One round-trip economy class airfare for the most direct route (subject to MOFA regulations)

Fellowship Duration

The Taiwan Fellowship 2027 research period will take place between January and December 2027.

Applicants may choose a fellowship duration of:

Recipients will begin their residency research program in Taiwan starting in January 2027.

How to Apply for Taiwan Fellowship 2027

Applicants should follow the official application procedure carefully.

Step 1: Review Fellowship Guidelines

Step 7: Submit Acceptance Letter

The acceptance letter must be sent to the Taiwan Fellowship team before December 31, 2026.

Step 8: Receive Grant Authorization Letter

Successful candidates will receive the official Grant Authorization Letter and become recognized Taiwan Fellowship recipients.

Step 9: Apply for an FR Visa

Recipients should apply for the appropriate FR visa using the Grant Authorization Letter.

Step 10: Begin Research in Taiwan

Recipients can then travel to Taiwan and officially begin their fellowship research program.
