Southern Voice is a network of 71 think tanks across the Global South, committed to generating high-quality, evidence-based research to inform global policy dialogues, especially around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The organization plays a critical role in ensuring that perspectives from the Global South shape international decision-making processes.
Position Overview
The Research Officer will work closely with the Head of Research & Innovation to coordinate and implement research initiatives, manage publications, and contribute to knowledge production.
This is a remote, full-time consultancy role with a strong focus on research coordination, stakeholder engagement, and policy-relevant outputs.
- Location: Remote (Home-based)
- Start Date: June 8, 2026 (earliest)
- Contract Duration: Initial 3-month probation, followed by a 1-year consultancy (renewable)
- Salary: USD 2,000 – 2,200 per month
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Coordinate multi-country research projects and initiatives
- Produce high-quality research outputs (reports, briefs, concept notes)
- Manage publication processes including peer review and dissemination
- Organize meetings, workshops, and collaborative activities
- Engage with global stakeholders and research partners
- Support institutional planning and strategic research development
- Contribute to partnerships and global policy dialogues

Requirements
To be considered, applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Political Science, Economics, or related fields
- At least 3 years of experience in research or policy-related roles
- Strong analytical, writing, and coordination skills
- Experience managing research projects or initiatives
- Excellent English communication skills
- Ability to work across time zones (minimum 5-hour overlap with UTC+5:30)
