 Position 1: Latin America & Caribbean Programme Officer

📍 Location: Mexico (Remote Work)

🎯 Role Overview

The Latin America & Caribbean Programme Officer will lead strategic efforts to accelerate the energy transition in:

  • Mexico (primary focus)
  • Argentina (secondary focus)

The role involves designing and implementing grantmaking strategies, managing partnerships, and identifying opportunities to strengthen climate action ecosystems across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a grantmaking portfolio in Mexico and Argentina
  • Identify, evaluate, and support grantee organizations
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders, funders, and civil society actors
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across ETF teams
  • Monitor political, economic, and policy developments affecting energy transition
  • Support fundraising, reporting, and strategic planning

 Required Expertise

  • Strong understanding of energy policy, climate strategy, or economic transition
  • Ability to build coalitions and drive systemic change
  • Experience in philanthropy or grantmaking (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish

📍 Location: Nigeria (Remote Work)

🎯 Role Overview

The Africa Programme Officer will lead ETF’s work in:

  • Nigeria (primary focus)
  • Senegal (secondary focus)

This role mirrors the Latin America position but focuses on African energy transition dynamics, supporting regional strategies and partnerships.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a grantmaking portfolio in Nigeria and Senegal
  • Strengthen partnerships with civil society and philanthropic actors
  • Provide expertise on regional energy and policy landscapes
  • Identify funding opportunities and strategic risks
  • Support collaboration across regional and global stakeholders

 Required Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of African energy, policy, or civil society landscapes
  • Experience in strategy, finance, or climate-related work
  • Strong communication skills in English and French
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects

 Candidate Profile (Both Roles)

ETF is seeking professionals who are:

  • Holders of an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Equipped with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strategic thinkers with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working in remote, global, and multicultural teams

Experience in philanthropy, grantmaking, or climate advocacy is highly valued.
