Position Title: Policy & Project Officer
Unit: Governance, Funding and Public Policy Development Unit (GAF)
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent (38 hours/week)

This role focuses on supporting EUA’s work in developing sustainable funding models and monitoring regulatory frameworks for universities across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
As a Policy & Project Officer, your work will be diverse and impactful. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Organising physical and virtual meetings with EUA members
- Managing logistics for consultations and working groups
- Preparing briefing materials and surveys
- Documenting discussions through minutes and summaries
2. Project Management
- Supporting project development and implementation
- Conducting data collection and analysis
- Organising events and workshops
- Handling reporting and financial management tasks
3. Policy Support
- Monitoring trends in funding and governance
- Drafting policy papers, reports, and briefings
- Supporting advocacy and policy development efforts
4. Communication & Representation
- Liaising with EUA members and partners
- Representing EUA at meetings and events
- Presenting findings and insights both online and in-person
5. Additional Contributions
- Preparing background materials and research documents
- Supporting emerging tasks within the unit
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Educational Background
- A second-cycle degree (Master’s level) in:
- Economics
- Political Science
- Social Sciences or related fields
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in:
- EU affairs
- Research
- Higher education policy

- Proficiency in at least one additional European language
