The global energy sector is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the urgent need for sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity. In response to this shift, the Open Global Power (OGP) 2026 Programme, launched by the Enel Foundation, offers a unique and comprehensive opportunity for young professionals to become leaders in the energy transition.

This prestigious initiative builds on the success of previous regional programmes and expands into a global platform for advanced training, policy dialogue, and international collaboration. Programme Overview

The Open Global Power 2026 programme is designed to:

  • Equip participants with technical, regulatory, and business expertise in sustainable energy
  • Foster a global network of energy professionals and future leaders
  • Promote inclusive, innovation-driven energy transitions across regions
  • Bridge the gap between global best practices and local implementation

Participants will engage in a blended learning journey, combining online coursework with a potential in-person experience in Italy.

Programme Objectives

Open Global Power 2026 has been designed with the following core goals:

  1. Build a global community of current and future energy leaders by connecting professionals from across Africa, Latin America, and beyond
  2. Provide an integrated understanding of energy systems, covering regulation, economics, technology, and geopolitics
  3. Strengthen participants’ capacity to translate global best practices into solutions that are viable in their own local or regional contexts
  4. Foster cross-regional dialogue and peer learning among professionals with diverse professional, cultural, and geographic backgrounds
  5. Promote gender balance, geographic diversity, and merit-based selection throughout every stage of the programme

Programme Structure

The Open Global Power 2026 programme is built around four carefully designed and sequenced modules. Each module serves a distinct purpose in building participants’ knowledge, skills, and professional networks.

1. Foundational Module (Online)

  • Duration: 4 weeks (approx. 6 hours/week)
  • Focus Areas:
    • Energy systems and electricity markets
    • Energy economics and geopolitics
    • Power technologies and innovation
    • Digital tools for energy transition
  • Assessment:
    • Online multiple-choice test (First Assignment)

2. Global Policy and Regulation Module (Online)

  • Duration: ~4 months (June to mid-October)
  • Format: Self-paced + live sessions
  • Key Highlights:
    • Design of energy policies and regulatory frameworks
    • Understanding sustainable energy access strategies
    • Completion of a Country Project (individual or group)
  • Certification Levels:
    • Certificate of Attendance
    • Certificate of Completion
    • Certificate of Excellence

3. Territorial Modules (Online)

  • Duration: 4 weeks (4–8 hours/week)
  • Focus:
    • Regional energy challenges and solutions
    • Infrastructure and regulatory frameworks
    • Socio-economic and environmental considerations
    • Real-world case studies
  • Assessment:
    • Second online multiple-choice test (Second Assignment)

4. Final Residential Module in Italy (In-Person)

  • Duration: Approximately 1 week
  • Eligibility: Top 10% of participants
  • Activities Include:
    • Advanced lectures and workshops
    • Group policy discussions
    • Site visits
    • Networking with global experts

Give Back Opportunity

Graduates may be invited to contribute to future educational initiatives and events organized by the Enel Foundation.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Age: 24–35 years (as of April 13, 2026)
  • Citizenship: African country, Brazil, or Chile
  • Education:
    • Must hold a Master’s, MBA, or PhD
    • At least one degree from Africa, Brazil, or Chile
  • Professional Interest:
    • Demonstrated commitment to a career in energy or electricity sectors
  • Language Requirement:
    • Advanced English proficiency (CEFR C1 level)
  • Mobility:
    • Must be eligible to travel to Italy

Application Process

To apply, candidates must submit the following documents (in English):

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Academic certificates and transcripts
  • Passport copy
  • Motivation letter (max 700 words)
  • Two reference letters

Important Notes:

  • Applications must be submitted via the official BeeZ platform
  • Only one application per candidate is allowed
  • Incomplete applications will not be accepted
  • Once submitted, applications cannot be edited

Selection Process

The selection is highly competitive and merit-based, involving:

  • Academic and professional evaluation
  • Review of motivation and reference letters

Participant Allocation:

  • 100 participants from Africa
  • 60 participants from Brazil
  • 40 participants from Chile

Top-performing participants from the online phase will be selected for the final Italy residency based on:

  • Assignment performance
  • Engagement throughout the programme

Application Deadline

  • Opening Date: April 13, 2026
  • Closing Date: May 15, 2026 (23:59 CEST)

Late applications will not be considered.
