Fellowship Overview
The ERIA SOG Fellowship is structured to support advanced research and policy innovation. Selected fellows will be based in Jakarta, where they will collaborate with ERIA researchers and regional stakeholders.
Duration
The fellowship duration ranges from 3 to 11 months, taking place between:
- October 1, 2026 and August 31, 2027
Key Responsibilities
Fellows are expected to:
- Commit fully to the fellowship on a full-time basis
- Deliver an introductory presentation and a final public presentation
- Publish one policy paper in English based on their research
- Participate in internal meetings, seminars, and ERIA programs
- Contribute actively to the ERIA intellectual community
Financial Benefits
The fellowship provides a competitive monthly allowance of up to:
- USD 5,000 per month (pro-rated based on residency duration)
This allowance supports research activities and living expenses during the fellowship period.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Hold a doctoral degree (for academic applicants), or

- Demonstrate strong English proficiency
- Have policy-relevant experience
- Submit a research proposal addressing regional issues in ASEAN or East Asia
