The Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), with support from the European Union, has officially opened applications for the highly sought-after PLAC NG 2026 Legislative Internship Programme. This prestigious 10-week full-time internship offers young Nigerians a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in legislative practice and policymaking at the National Assembly.
Designed for individuals passionate about governance, public policy, and democratic development, this programme equips participants with practical knowledge and exposure to Nigeria’s legislative system.
About the Internship Programme
The PLAC Legislative Internship Programme is an intensive learning experience that places interns directly within the National Assembly environment. Participants will engage with legislative processes, policy analysis, and governance frameworks while working alongside professionals in the field.
- Location: Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
- Duration: May 2026 – July 2026 (10 weeks, full-time)
Internship Benefits
Participants in the programme will:

Although the internship is unpaid, selected candidates will receive stipends to cover transportation and lunch expenses within Abuja.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the programme, applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen aged between 21 and 35 years
- Hold at least a first degree in any discipline from a recognized tertiary institution
- Have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Programme
- Demonstrate strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Possess good computer skills
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal abilities
Important Logistics Information
Applicants should note:
- The internship is based in Abuja, and accommodation is not provided
- Interns must be able to reside in Abuja or cover their own living expenses
- Only transportation and lunch stipends will be provided
