The Research Associate will support the Senior Fellow for China Studies in areas including global finance, trade, and economic diplomacy, helping to produce written research, organize events, and manage communications and budgets.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct research for publications such as articles, book chapters, and reports
  • Coordinate events (speakers, logistics, invitations, background prep)
  • Assist with social media, blogs, and web content
  • Manage program finances and assist with grant reporting
  • Handle administrative tasks including scheduling and media requests
  • Collaborate with other CFR departments and research fellows as needed

Who Can Apply?

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, international relations, or a related field
  • 1+ years of internship or professional administrative experience (preferred)
  • Excellent writing, communication, and editing skills
  • Proven interest in global financial markets, digital economy, climate security, or economic policy
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficiency in one or more East Asian languages is highly desired
  • Master’s degree is a plus but not required
