The Together Women Rise Featured Grants Program is now open for its 2026 grant cycle, offering powerful funding opportunities for organizations working to advance gender equality and empower women and girls in low-income and marginalized communities across the Global South.
This highly competitive grant program not only provides financial support but also amplifies the work of selected organizations through national visibility, educational campaigns, and community engagement initiatives.
About the Together Women Rise Featured Grants Program
The Featured Grants Program is designed to support impactful, sustainable, and community-driven initiatives that directly improve the lives of women and girls.
Each year, Together Women Rise selects at least 12 organizations to feature—one per month—highlighting their work through:
- Nationwide chapters
- Official website and newsletters
- Social media platforms
- Educational materials for members
Selected organizations are matched to a specific month based on their issue area and geographic focus, creating a unique opportunity for storytelling and advocacy.
Grant Value and Duration
Successful applicants will receive:
- Funding Amount: $35,000 to $50,000
- Grant Period: 24 months (2 years)
- Disbursement Structure:
- 60% upon signing the funding agreement
- 30% after submission of the interim report
- 10% after submission of the final report
Key Dates and Timeline
- Application Opens: May 5, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. ET
- Application Deadline: June 5, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. ET
- Grantee Notification (Approved): November 2026
- Non-Selected Notification: November–December 2026
Late applications or missing documentation will not be accepted under any circumstances.
What the Grant Supports
The program focuses on initiatives that promote gender equality, defined as equal rights and opportunities for all individuals regardless of gender.
Funding is available for:
- Capacity building initiatives (technology, staff training, strategy, monitoring & evaluation)
- Launch of new programs
- Expansion of existing programs
All funded projects must:
- Demonstrate direct impact on women and girls
- Reflect community-identified solutions
- Include monitoring and evaluation mechanisms
- Be implemented by sustainable organizations with multiple funding sources
What the Grant Does NOT Fund
Together Women Rise does not support:
- Debt reduction
- Grants to individuals
- Endowments
- Political activities, lobbying, or campaigns
- Government entities
- Construction or building funds
- Religious or political conversion efforts
Organizations must also comply with the organization’s Religion Policy and avoid exclusionary practices.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Organizational Requirements
- Be a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit OR apply through a U.S.-based fiscal sponsor
- Have a minimum annual operating budget of $100,000
- Have at least 3 years of on-the-ground operations in the Global South
- Demonstrate financial sustainability and responsible practices
- Maintain an English-language website (unless using a fiscal sponsor)
- Submit all application materials in English
Leadership Requirement
- Women must make up the majority (at least 50%) of leadership, including board and executive roles
Funding History
- Must not have received a Together Women Rise grant within the past four years
- Previous grantees must have fulfilled all reporting requirements
Geographic Focus
The grant supports projects implemented in the Global South, including:
- Africa
- Latin America and the Caribbean
- Most of Asia (excluding high-income countries such as Japan and South Korea)
- Parts of the Middle East and Oceania
Projects in high-income countries or Europe are not eligible.
Application Process
The application process is structured in three key steps:
Step 1: Eligibility Questionnaire
- A short online form to determine eligibility
- Immediate feedback provided
Step 2: Organization Profile
- Create a secure profile on the application platform
- Submit organizational details
Step 3: Full Application
Applicants will be required to submit:
- IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter (or fiscal sponsor’s)
- Organizational budget
- IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ (two most recent years)
- Fiscal sponsor agreement (if applicable)
Shortlisted applicants may also participate in an online site visit.

Responsibilities of Selected Grantees
Organizations awarded funding will be required to:
- Sign a funding agreement
- Provide media materials (photos, videos, impact stories)
- Participate in webinars and engagement sessions
- Submit interim and final project reports
- Engage with Together Women Rise members during their feature month
