About the Fellowship

Launched in 2024, the fellowship bridges the gap between underutilized government data and the potential for improved efficiency in public administration. Leveraging insights from the Government Analytics Handbook and supported by World Bank experts and academics, the Fellowship offers frontier evidence and practitioner insights to enhance government efficiency. The Fellowship is a collaboration between the World Bank Development Economics Vice-Presidency (DEC), the Development Impact Group (DIME) and the Governance Global Practice (GGP).

Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be employed in central government organizations (including agencies).
  • Hold mid-level manager or senior analyst positions with authority to develop a government analytics project.
  • Have tertiary-level coursework in statistics or quantitative methods.
  • Be proficient in English.
  • Be nominated by their organization, with up to two fellows per organization eligible.

  2. 150-word project summary, outlining how they plan to use the fellowship insights to benefit their organization.
