Applications Open for Commonwealth Caribbean Cyber Experts Fellowship(Fully-funded)

Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Caribbean Cyber Experts Fellowship, a unique opportunity for cybersecurity professionals from Commonwealth countries in the Caribbean. This fellowship aims to foster knowledge exchange, build partnerships, and influence the cybersecurity policy work of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Fellowship Details

Selected fellows will serve a two-year term, gaining exclusive access to academic research, networking events, and annual conferences. The program focuses on strengthening cybersecurity policies, processes, and institutions across the Commonwealth Caribbean.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be:

  • Citizens of a Commonwealth country in the Caribbean
  • Aged between 25 and 60
  • Experienced with at least five years in fields like law, policymaking, cybersecurity, telecommunications, or academia.

To apply, submit the following by 23:59 BST on 23 September 2024 to cyberfellowship@commonwealth.int:

A Call to Action

Announcing the fellowship, Commonwealth Secretary-General Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in today’s rapidly advancing digital world. She highlighted the need for collaboration within the Commonwealth to address disparities in cyber defense capabilities and safeguard the region against cyber threats.

This fellowship is part of the Commonwealth’s efforts under the Commonwealth Cyber Declaration, a framework established in 2018 to ensure a secure and prosperous cyberspace for all Commonwealth citizens.
