About the Programme:
The second cohort of the Global Youth Fellows program of the NGO Committee on the Status of Women, New York Youth Leaders & Young Professionals aims to strengthen the global community of youth advocates for gender equality by celebrating the work and stories of 20 young activists. Join this cohort to access a lifelong global network of like-minded youth.
About the Community:
The Youth Leaders & Young Professionals (YLYPs) community is dedicated to global gender equality and engaging in UN processes, particularly the CSW. NGO CSW/NY’s YLYP program empowers youth to participate in the, facilitating intergenerational conversations and expanding networks.
Focus on Beijing Declaration:
This year’s CSW will center on the 30 years since the 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, a landmark in advancing women’s rights. The program will focus on the Platform’s 12 critical areas and apply a human rights framework to the rights of women and girls.
Eligibility:
To apply for the Global Youth Fellows program, applicants must be:
- under 40 years old,
- have at least two years of experience in community or civil society work,
- and show a commitment to supporting civil society.
- Proficiency in English and a start date of October 2024 are also required.
Roles, Responsibilities:
Participants in the program must:
- attend monthly meetings,
- complete assignments,
- and commit to implementing their award in their organization.
Benefits:

- receive a financial award,
- be featured in a publication,
- lead a Youth Preparation Series,
- and engage in advocacy efforts.
- They will also have access to a global network of young advocates, speaking opportunities at the CSW forum, and more.
