The Medical Research Council (MRC), in collaboration with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), is inviting applications for the Applied Global Health Research: Stage One. This grant opportunity aims to support applied research projects that address global health challenges and inequities.
We welcome applications of all sizes, from large research projects to small and medium-scale initiatives. Our goal is to build a diverse portfolio of high-quality global research that promotes multidisciplinarity and strengthens global health research capacity.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs): Research organisations based in LMICs, or research-focused institutes and not-for-profit organisations with dedicated research capacity.
- UK-Based Applicants: Researchers in the UK working in equitable partnerships with LMIC researchers.
What We Are Looking For:
- Research projects that lead to tangible changes in health policy and practice.
- Cross-sector research addressing global health challenges.
- Feasibility studies, late-stage intervention development, implementation research, health economic research, and more.
Funding Details:
- Up to £2 million available per project.
- Funding covers a range of costs including salaries, research consumables, equipment, and research capacity strengthening activities.
