ITA Launches U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service Pilot Graduate Fellowship Program

The International Trade Administration (ITA) is excited to announce the launch of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service Pilot Fellowship Program. This initiative aims to recruit and train the next generation of international trade experts and commercial diplomats to bolster U.S. economic competitiveness and innovation.

Up to 20 graduate students will be selected for this unique fellowship, offering a living and learning experience designed to provide applied expertise in international trade and export promotion. The fellowship includes up to $35,000 in financial assistance and offers a potential pathway to employment with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, Global Markets.

Selected fellows will participate in an immersive 8-week enrichment program at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the summer of 2025. The program aims to increase participants’ understanding of the International Trade Administration’s U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service and its critical role in global trade and U.S. export growth.

Key Details:

  • Application Deadline: August 7, 2024
  • Financial Assistance: Up to $35,000
  • Program Duration: Up to 8 weeks in summer 2025
