The World Trade Organization (WTO) is excited to announce the launch of its Young Trade Leaders Programme. This initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding of the WTO’s work and international trade among young people while creating a global network of Young Trade Leaders. If you are between 18 and 30 years old and have a strong interest in international trade, you are encouraged to apply.

About the Young Trade Leaders Programme

The Young Trade Leaders Programme seeks exceptional young individuals who can clearly demonstrate how trade can benefit people and the planet. Selected leaders will bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the role of trade and the WTO, while also gaining insights into the organization’s operations and contributing to its mission.

How to Apply

Young Trade Leaders will be selected for a one-year term. For more details on the 2024 programme and information on how to apply, please consult the information note. The deadline for applications is 5 July 2024 (23.59 CET). Short-listed candidates will be invited to participate in an interview in July.

Benefits

Selected Young Trade Leaders will:

• Participate in training courses organized by the WTO.
• Receive advice and mentoring from the WTO Secretariat.
• Obtain support for organizing WTO-related activities in their home countries.

While the programme does not offer remuneration, selected leaders will be invited to travel to Geneva to actively participate in the 2024 WTO Public Forum in September.
