Call for Youth Contributions: 2024 GEM Youth Report on Technology in Education(Paid Job and open to youth worldwide)
Summary
The World Bank invites young individuals and youth-led organizations to contribute to regional consultations for the 2024 GEM Youth Report on technology in education. Seeking 5 regional leads for Asia, Europe, MENA, Latin and Central America, and the Caribbean.
I. Background
The Global Education Monitoring Report (GEM Report) monitors progress on education in the SDGs. The 2023 GEM Report focuses on technology in education, examining challenges and solutions. A youth report, in partnership with Restless Development, will explore opportunities and challenges for youth in education technology.
II. Work and Objectives
Organize a regional consultation to inform the 2024 Youth Report on technology in education. Responsibilities include adapting the consultation methodology, mobilizing participants, facilitating online workshops, preparing a consultation report, and supporting report dissemination.
III. Desired Outputs and Timeline
Outputs:
- Virtual regional consultation
- Identification of facilitators
- 2-page consultation report
Timeline:
- Proposal submission: November 15, 2023
- Regional consultation: December 1-31, 2023
- Consultation report: January 15, 2024
IV. Submission of Expression of Interest
About You:
- Below 35 years
- Based in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, MENA, Oceania, or Latin and Central America and the Caribbean
- Fluent in English and a major regional language
- Active in civil society, particularly digital activism
- Comfortable working remotely with stable internet access

- Proposed methodology for the consultation

- November 15, 2023: Deadline for submissions
- November 17, 2023: Submission review completion
- November 20, 2023: Outcome notification and contracting negotiation
