Call for applications: Regional Focal Points for the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY)

We are excited to announce an open call for applications for new Regional Focal Points for the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group (DRR WG). This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role, contribute to global disaster risk reduction efforts, and amplify the voices of young people in your region.

About the Role:

As a Regional Focal Point (RFP), you will play a crucial role in the coordination and mobilization of youth-led DRR initiatives within your region and in the 2024 Regional Platforms on Disaster Risk Reduction. You will work closely with the Global Focal Points to promote youth engagement, facilitate communication between regional and global levels, and support the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Aged between 18-30 years.
• Citizens from any country in AFRICA, ASIA PACIFIC and THE CARIBBEAN.
• Demonstrated experience and interest in disaster risk reduction and climate risk.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
• Commitment to a one-year term with the possibility of renewal.
