About Claude Corps

Claude Corps — a partnership between CodePath and Anthropic — places early-career fellows inside nonprofits, government agencies, and public-interest organizations for a year to put AI to work on problems that matter.

Fellows embed full-time at a host organization — building real solutions with Claude, teaching the people around them to do the same, and leaving behind something that keeps running after they’re gone.

Claude Corps is currently searching for fellows to join its third cohort, which will start in August 2027. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with a deadline of January 31, 2027 for consideration.

About the Claude Corps Fellowship 2027

Over a year, embedded at a single organization, you’ll do whatever moves the needle for your host — and that will look different month to month. Claude is looking for utility players: people who can build, teach, scope, and translate — and who don’t treat any of that work as beneath them. The hard part is doing excellent work inside an organization that has stakeholders who have difficult constraints and less experience working with Claude.

Claude Corps Fellowship Responsibilities

Discover and scope

Spend real time understanding what your host organization actually needs. Pull usage data, talk to the people doing the work, and define projects in sprints with clear outcomes.

Build with Claude

Ship working solutions — agents, automations, internal tools, evaluation harnesses, integrations — that make a process faster, cheaper, or possible for the first time. Some of this will be ambitious; some will be as simple as building a dashboard.

Enable the organization

Run training for mixed technical and non-technical audiences. Turn three or four colleagues into the people others go to with AI questions. Your job isn’t done when the tool works — it’s done when someone else can own it.

Hand off well

Sit with the person who’ll own your work after you leave. Watch them break it. Write the runbook. Make sure it survives you.

Exercise judgment

Catch your own wrong answers. Tell a stakeholder “we shouldn’t build that” when it’s true. Cut the part of the demo that isn’t landing.

Claude Corps Fellowship Prerequisites

To apply, you need all three of the following:

• Completion of AI Fluency and Claude 101. Proof of completion must be submitted with your application.
• You have built something. A website, app, or script others used; an automation, bot, or workflow that saved someone time; a dashboard or tracker; a project built with Claude or another AI model; a training or how-to guide with a technical component; or something else you built end-to-end. It does not need to be big, polished, or from a job.
• Demonstrated experience in community, nonprofit, or public-interest work. This could be working, interning, or volunteering at a nonprofit, public sector, or community-serving organization; completing a service program (AmeriCorps, City Year, Peace Corps, Teach For America, etc.); community organizing, mutual aid, or advocacy work; or founding or leading a student or community service organization.

Who Should Apply for Claude Corps 2027?

Claude Corps is a launchpad for people at the very start of their careers. It’s a fit if you’re:

• finishing or have just finished a degree or trade program and are looking for your first full-time role;
• transitioning out of military service into your first civilian career; or
• in your first full-time job and looking to move into mission-driven work.

This fellowship is designed as a first step into professional work, so it’s best suited to people who don’t yet have several years of experience behind them. Not sure which side you’re on? Apply anyway.

You May Be a Good Fit If You

We care about what you’ve done and how you think, not your degree. You may be a good fit if you:

• Can talk honestly about something you built and shipped — what you scoped, what worked, and what you’d do differently. Doing it on a small team where you wore several hats is a plus.
• Can say why social-impact work pulls you, and what you learned from the time you’ve spent in or around nonprofits, public service, education, public health, workforce, civic tech, or community organizations.
• Can explain something technical to a non-technical room and read whether it’s landing — whether that’s teaching, mentoring, or running a workshop.
• Take initiative without someone tracking you, and stay coachable while doing it.
• Are energized — not deflated — by ambiguity, resource constraints, and problems that turn out to be different than advertised.
• Have hands-on time with agent frameworks, evals, or production LLM deployments — not required, but it helps.
• Are 18 or older, authorized to work in the United States (we are not able to sponsor visas for this program), and open to relocating within the US to work in person at a host organization.

What You’ll Get

Claude Corps Fellows will receive:

• A full-time salary of $85,000 and benefits for the fellowship year, plus Claude API and tooling access.
• Relocation support for Fellows placed more than 100 miles from their current residence.
• An onboarding bootcamp with Anthropic before you start at your host.
• Dedicated support, regular cohort sessions with other Fellows, and direct access to Anthropic engineers through office hours.
• A portfolio entry that’s still running six months after you leave, and incredible references to go with it.

Claude Corps Application & Interview Process

The Claude Corps application and interview process includes:

1. Application → A short application with a couple of written questions, including what you’ve built and your community or nonprofit experience.

2. Practical assessment → A practical take-home assessment.

3. First-round interview → An initial interview.

4. Final-round interview → A final-round interview.

Claude Corps is a partnership between CodePath and Anthropic. CodePath is the employer of record for this fellowship.

Claude Corps Host Organization Application

The host organization application takes about 30 minutes. Your progress will autosave, and you can download a PDF version of the form to review with your team before submitting.

Before you start, please have the following ready:

1. Your organization’s EIN.
2. Your organization’s Claude.ai (Team/Enterprise) and/or Claude Console Organization ID(s), found in Admin Settings.
3. Name, title, and email for your leadership sponsor, fellow supervisor, and authorized signer.
4. A sense of the types of projects you’d want a fellow to work on. It’s OK if they’re not fully scoped.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis in the first year of the program, with start dates in October 2026 (Cohort 1), January 2027 (Cohort 2), and August 2027 (Cohort 3). Applications for Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 are now closed. All applications submitted now will be considered for Cohort 3.
