What Is the Young NCB Advisory Group?
The Young NCB Advisory Group is a youth-led body that provides advice, feedback, and direction to the National Children’s Bureau. It is designed to amplify the voices of young people and ensure they are actively involved in shaping national work related to children’s rights, wellbeing, and development.
YNCB members contribute to:

Who Can Join YNCB?
YNCB is committed to inclusivity and welcomes young people from diverse backgrounds. Membership is open to:
- Young people aged 11–18
- Young people aged 11–24 who have a disability or special educational need
No prior experience is required. The only expectation is a willingness to speak up, share ideas, and contribute to improving the lives of children and young people.
What Does Being a YNCB Member Involve?
Membership in the Young NCB Advisory Group offers a rich and rewarding experience. Young people participate in a variety of activities designed to build confidence, develop skills, and create real impact.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Attend Six Meetings Per Year Meetings take place both online and in-person at NCB’s London offices.
- Engage in Governance and Policy Work Members provide insights that help shape national programmes and organisational decisions.
- Participate in Research and Consultations Young people contribute to studies and consultations on issues affecting children and young people.
- Represent NCB in Public Spaces Members may speak at events, engage with professionals, and share their perspectives with decision-makers.
- Support Programme Development Members help shape youth-focused projects and initiatives.
