About the USP Disability Rights and Inclusion Fellowship

The USP Disability Rights and Inclusion Fellow will support Save the Children’s efforts to advance disability rights and inclusion across its United States Programs.

These programs serve children and families living in underserved and under-resourced rural communities through initiatives focused on:

  • Early childhood development
  • School-age learning
  • Nutrition
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Emergency response
  • Child wellbeing programs

The fellow will work closely with multiple teams across the organization, including:

  • Program Quality and Impact
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL)
  • State Implementation Teams
  • Head Start Programs
  • Disability Rights and Inclusion Specialists

The role is designed to help mainstream disability inclusion across existing programs while also identifying opportunities for targeted disability-focused interventions.

Fellowship Objectives

The fellowship seeks to ensure that children with disabilities have equitable access to services, opportunities, and support systems that enable them to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cross-Functional Program Support (20%)

Under the guidance of the U.S. Disability Rights and Inclusion Advisor, fellows will support teams working with children and families in rural communities throughout the United States.

Activities may include:

  1. Research and Landscape Analysis (20%)

Fellows will conduct:

  • Desk research
  • Literature reviews
