Beginning in 2026, NGGC members will select one component of economic justice to fund each year. This shift responds to applicant feedback requesting clearer funding priorities and improved application success rates. - Ensuring affordable housing
- Increasing housing stability
- Reducing gentrification and displacement
- Strengthening renter protections
- Tenant organizing
- Eviction prevention
- Affordable housing advocacy
- Supporting neighbors experiencing homelessness
- Cooperative housing models
- Improving homeownership rates
- Addressing redlining and Indigenous land theft through reparations or landback initiatives

Who Can Apply?
NGGC invites applications from organizations that meet the following criteria:
1. Budget Requirement
- Annual organizational budget must be $750,000 or less.
2. Geographic Focus
Organizations must:
- Primarily serve communities in the Greater Washington region, OR
- Apply for funds to serve communities in the Greater Washington region.
This region includes:
- Washington, DC
- Prince George’s County (MD)
- Montgomery County (MD)
- Northern Virginia
3. Community Focus
Applicants must work with historically under-resourced communities to build wealth or financial security.
4. Organizational Age
- Must have been operating for at least one year.

Grant Details and Funding Approach

- Optional six-month capacity-building training through Spur Local
