France Embassy in Uganda Opens Applications for Fully Funded Master’s Scholarships in France for 2026/2027 Academic Year
The Embassy of France in Uganda has officially launched its call for applications for the 2026/2027 Master’s Degree Scholarship Programme, offering talented Ugandan graduates an opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies at recognized public universities in France.
This prestigious scholarship program is aimed at young Ugandan students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree and wish to continue their academic journey through a Master’s degree programme taught either in English or French.
The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, covering tuition fees, international travel, living expenses, health insurance, and several additional benefits designed to ensure a smooth academic and cultural experience in France.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Must be a Ugandan citizen.
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in one of the eligible fields before the application deadline.
- Must secure admission or demonstrate proof of application to a recognized French public university offering a Master’s programme.
Important Requirement
Candidates are responsible for identifying and applying to their preferred French university before submitting their scholarship application.
Proof of university application or admission is mandatory and will form an essential part of the selection process.
Required Application Documents
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:
- Cover letter
- Copy of a valid identity document
- Copy of Bachelor’s degree certificate
- Proof of application or admission from a recognized French public university
Applicants who have not yet received final admission may submit evidence showing that their university application process has already been initiated.
A final proof of admission will be required to complete the scholarship selection process.

Selection Process
The selection process will take place in two stages:
Stage 1: Application Review
The Embassy of France in Uganda will review all submitted applications and assess candidates based on academic qualifications, eligibility, and suitability for the scholarship.
Stage 2: Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview at the Embassy of France.
The interview stage will allow applicants to further demonstrate their academic goals, motivation, and suitability for postgraduate studies in France.
Application Deadline
Deadline: June 11, 2026 (Midnight)
Applicants are encouraged to begin their university admission process immediately and submit their scholarship applications well before the deadline.
Notification of Results
All applicants will be informed of the outcome of the selection process by:
July 11, 2026
Successful candidates will receive further guidance regarding travel arrangements, visa procedures, enrollment, and scholarship administration.
