About the International Detention Coalition (IDC)

The International Detention Coalition is a global network of more than 200 civil society organisations and individuals across 75+ countries, working collectively to end immigration detention and promote rights‑based alternatives. IDC collaborates with partners on advocacy, research, capacity building, and coalition strengthening to advance humane, sustainable migration governance.

Role Purpose

The Africa Programme Officer will support IDC’s mission by combining strong advocacy expertise with excellent coordination and organizational skills. The role requires a professional who understands migration and human rights dynamics in Africa and can support regional programmes, stakeholder engagement, and member capacity development.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a remote environment while contributing meaningfully to IDC’s strategic goals.
