Hiring that makesense Accelerator 2026: Southeast Asia Climate Organisations Can Access Funding + Recruitment Support
The Hiring that makesense Accelerator is now open for applications, offering climate-focused organisations in Southeast Asia the chance to strengthen their recruitment systems, secure funding, and make strategic hires by August 2026. Designed for nonprofits, mission-driven organisations, and eligible social enterprises, this three-month programme helps teams move from unclear hiring needs to a structured recruitment process that attracts and converts the right talent.
For organisations working on climate action, sustainability, or environmental impact, hiring the right people can be one of the biggest growth challenges. This accelerator is built to solve that problem by combining coaching, hiring strategy, candidate outreach, and financial support.
About the Programme
Hiring that makesense is a regional accelerator created by Jobs that makesense Asia to support climate organisations that need to grow their teams. While demand for climate solutions is increasing across Southeast Asia, many organisations struggle to recruit qualified professionals. At the same time, talented job seekers often do not know where these opportunities exist.
This programme closes that gap by helping participating organisations create a professional hiring system while connecting them to mission-aligned candidates.
The 2026 cohort will select at least 20 organisations from across Southeast Asia.
The programme runs from May 25 to August 28, 2026, and is delivered primarily online, making it accessible to organisations across the region.
Why This Opportunity Matters
Many small and mid-sized climate organisations are doing important work but lack internal hiring expertise, recruitment systems, or visibility to attract strong applicants. Poor hiring processes can delay growth, increase staff turnover, and slow impact.
This accelerator gives organisations the tools to hire more effectively while also offering financial support. Instead of simply posting vacancies and hoping for results, participants receive structured guidance to improve how they recruit, communicate roles, assess candidates, and onboard talent.
For organisations preparing for growth in 2026, this can create long-term benefits beyond one hire.
What Participants Will Gain
Selected organisations receive a $1,000 participation grant upon successful completion of the programme. In addition, top-performing organisations may unlock between $5,000 and $10,000 in further funding.
Participants will also gain access to a full recruitment support system. This includes expert coaching from practitioners who understand climate hiring in Southeast Asia, practical tools to define roles clearly, and support creating recruitment campaigns that attract the right applicants.
By the end of the accelerator, organisations are expected to complete a structured hiring process and ideally welcome a new team member by August 2026.
The programme also helps teams build repeatable hiring systems they can continue using after the cohort ends.
Who Can Apply
The programme is intended for organisations that meet the following criteria.
Applicants should be climate-focused nonprofits, social enterprises, or mission-driven organisations operating in Southeast Asia. Teams should have at least two years of operations and a minimum of three paid staff members.
Organisations must either be actively hiring or planning to recruit for a funded role during the programme period.
Because all sessions are conducted in English, applicants should have working English proficiency.
At least one team member responsible for hiring decisions must participate throughout the programme.
Eligible Areas
Applications are open to organisations based in or primarily operating in Southeast Asia. This includes countries such as Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei, and Timor-Leste.
Organisations headquartered outside the region may still apply if their primary climate work is based in Southeast Asia.
Programme Timeline
Applications are currently open and will close on May 10, 2026.
Shortlisted organisations can expect contact during the week of May 18, 2026, with final selections announced during the week of May 25, 2026.
The online Accelerator Bootcamp runs from June 8 to June 12, 2026. The Recruitment Sprint then runs from June 15 to August 21, 2026.
Application Process and Deadline
Interested organisations should complete the official application form before May 10, 2026.
Applicants should be ready to explain their mission, current hiring needs, and the role they hope to fill through the programme. Having a rough hiring plan is enough, as the accelerator will help refine it further.
This is a valuable opportunity for climate organisations that want to grow their impact through stronger hiring systems, funding support, and practical recruitment guidance.
