ITU–UNU Summer School on Evidence-Based Digital Policies 2026

Applications for Summer School on Evidence-Based Digital Policies is now open. The United Nations University–MERIT and the ITU Academy Training Centre invite applications for the 2nd Summer School on Evidence-Based Digital Policies to Achieve Universal and Meaningful Connectivity. This in-person advanced training programme will take place in Maastricht, the Netherlands, from 8–12 June 2026.

This summer school is designed to strengthen participants’ technical and thematic capacities in designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based digital policies. Through a combination of lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on sessions, participants will work closely with leading experts on digital policy issues, ICT statistics, and geospatial data. The programme emphasizes translating data and analysis into policy-relevant insights that support inclusive and meaningful connectivity.

With support from the European Union’s Global Gateway initiative, the course is fully funded for selected participants, covering accommodation, meals, and extracurricular activities. Participants or their organizations are expected to cover travel to Maastricht and any visa-related costs.

This advanced training course is intended for:

  • Government officials responsible for digital policies in ministries and telecommunications regulatory authorities
  • Policy analysts from national and regional organizations in the field of telecommunication regulation
  • Data analysts, researchers, and policymakers
