United Nations ILO Paid Internships Exclusively for Persons with Disabilities

United Nations ILO Paid Internships Exclusively for Persons with Disabilities

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is offering eight exclusive internship positions for persons with disabilities, as part of its commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity within the workplace. These positions provide a unique opportunity to gain international work experience and contribute to impactful projects that promote social justice and inclusive development.

Who Can Apply?

These internships are exclusively reserved for applicants who self-identify as persons with disabilities. Applicants must answer the relevant question during the application process to confirm their disability status. Individuals without a disability are not eligible for these specific roles.

Applicants must also meet all additional criteria listed in the respective internship descriptions. Furthermore, persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply for all internship opportunities at the ILO, not just those designated as reserved positions.

Reasonable accommodations can be requested during the application process through the designated section of the application form.

  • Applications will be screened by the Human Resources Development Department (HRD).

  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly by ILO field offices.

  • If shortlisted, you may be invited to a written test and/or interview, conducted via Skype, video call, teleconference, or email.

Stipend

Interns will receive a monthly stipend from the ILO, determined by the cost of living in the duty station. If an intern receives partial funding from another source (e.g., university or foundation), the ILO will supplement the stipend to reach the appropriate monthly level. Travel expenses to and from the duty station are the responsibility of the intern.

Insurance

Interns are responsible for securing their own insurance coverage for illness and accidents during the internship. The ILO does not cover any health or accident-related costs.

Important Fraud Warning

The ILO does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process, including application, interview, processing, or training. Official communication will always come from an @ilo.org email address. The ILO will never ask for bank account information or other personal financial details.
