Overview

Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. This prestigious scholarship offers young Africans a fully funded opportunity to pursue higher education while receiving holistic training to become effective change leaders.

The program provides comprehensive academic and career development support, including mentorship, ethical leadership seminars, and skills training. Scholars will be equipped with the necessary tools to achieve academic success, engage with their communities, and transition into meaningful employment opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicants must possess a genuine and valid WASSCE, GBCE, ABCE, GCE O ‘Level & A ‘Level, or equivalent results from an accredited institution. Results must not be more than five years old.
  2. Applicants must meet KNUST’s admission requirements and gain admission into a degree program.
  3. Ghanaian applicants must purchase an E-Voucher and complete the admission application when the online portal opens. International applicants must select the option for international students.
  4. Candidates with awaiting results are not eligible for the scholarship.
  5. Applicants must demonstrate critical economic need.
  6. Applicants must have proven records of leadership and community engagement.
  7. Priority will be given to:
    • Female applicants
    • Displaced persons (e.g., certified refugees, internally displaced persons)
    • Persons with disabilities
  8. Scholars must commit to returning to their communities to contribute positively (Go-Back and Give-Back initiative).
  9. Applicants must not be enrolled in any tertiary institution at the time of application.

Note: Candidates must apply separately for both the scholarship and admission to KNUST.
