This is your opportunity to join the fifth cohort of Youth Fellows supporting the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions for COP29 and COP30.
About the Fellowship
The Climate Champions Team works to amplify the voices of young people in climate action, ensuring they are at the heart of driving systemic change. As part of this mission, the team is seeking passionate, ambitious, and optimistic youth to join its fellowship program.
This year’s fellowship will focus on creating real-world momentum ahead of COP29 in Belém, Brazil, and COP30. Fellows will play a key role in mobilizing climate action, collaborating with non-State actors, and helping to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, in partnership with the UNFCCC, the Marrakech Partnership, and the COP Presidencies.
Fellowship Areas of Focus
The 2025 Climate Champions Youth Fellowship offers an exciting opportunity to dive deep into various areas of climate action:
- Race To Zero and Race To Resilience Campaigns
- Systems Transformation (sectoral work in Finance and tracking signals of change)
- Stakeholder and Policy Engagement
- Strategic Communications and Events
Fellows will engage in personal leadership development, systems mapping, horizon planning, stakeholder engagement, and outreach to youth organizations worldwide. You’ll also have the chance to collaborate with other fellows on innovative projects that drive change.
Key Fellowship Details
- Duration: Nine months, from April to December 2025
- Time Commitment: 16 hours per week

Who Should Apply?
We are looking for early- to mid-career professionals, aged 18-30 (as of 1 January 2025), with a strong track record in climate or sustainability advocacy. If you have at least five years of full-time work or volunteering experience, particularly in the areas of climate leadership, community organizing, or the specific sectors outlined above, we encourage you to apply!
Eligibility Criteria:
- Aged 18-30 by 1 January 2025
- At least five years of relevant experience (work or volunteering)
- Minimum commitment of 16 hours per week
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across time zones
- Access to a laptop and reliable internet
- A passion for raising non-State actor commitments to the Paris Agreement
