The United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY) is recruiting a Gender and Protection Coordinator to develop and implement its gender and protection strategies. This part-time position (0.8 FTE) is based in The Hague, Netherlands, with at least 50% of the workweek required on-site. The role begins on 6 January 2025.
About UNOY
UNOY is a global network of over 120 youth-led organizations in 70 countries, dedicated to promoting peaceful societies shaped by young people. Based in The Hague, UNOY’s international team drives the Youth, Peace, and Security agenda, with a focus on youth-led approaches to peace, civic protection, and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement gender and protection strategies.
- Oversee the execution of gender and protection activities across the network.
- Manage project plans, budgets, and reporting.
- Build partnerships and represent UNOY in relevant forums.
- Lead Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) for gender and protection projects.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in gender studies, international relations, peace and conflict studies, development studies, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of demonstrated experience (paid or voluntary) working on gender and protection issues.
- Skills:
- Strong commitment to addressing violence of exclusion and decolonizing peacebuilding.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
- Intercultural facilitation skills are an advantage.
- Experience in collaboration with local (youth) civil society organizations in peace and security, human rights, or related fields.
- Familiarity with the Youth, Peace, and Security agenda is preferred.
- Additional language skills (French, Spanish, Arabic) are a plus.
